Treasury Wine Estates has launched a sustainable wine range that is only available in the UK on-premise.

All three Coastal Reserve varietals have been designed to appeal to an “increasing pool” of consumers who want brands that have a purpose, TWE said today. The range is vegan-certified.

The range features wine varietals from Europe including Merlot from Spain, Sauvignon Blanc from France and Pinot Grigio Rosato from Italy. Two bottle sizes are available – a 75cl and a 18.7cl format.

To launch the range, TWE has partnered with not-for-profit organisation Plastic Oceans Europe. Meanwhile, the company has sourced and shipped the European wines in bulk to minimise shipping miles and emissions, and used light-weight bottles and labels made from recycled paper.

Tony Watson, TWE’s commercial director for the UK & Ireland, said: “It is vital as a supplier, more so now than ever, to offer something that will bring quality messaging to a drinks’ menu, that resonates well with consumers and will remain front of mind for a return visit.”
