A restructuring of its Swedish business by the Danish brewer, Carlsberg Breweries, could result in 300 jobs being cut, the company has said.

The company is considering closing its brewery in Stockholm and moving production to units in Falkenberg and Copenhagen.

The changes would result in 400 jobs being cut but 100 additional jobs would be created in Falkenberg.

Carlsberg said it had initiated negotiations with union representatives regarding the proposed changes. Negotiations will also take place with regard to integrating Danish and Swedish administrative functions.
