The Rioja-based winery, Baron de Ley, posted a net profit for the first half of 2003 of €10.2m, up 13.5% from €8.9m in the first half of last year. Sales revenues increased by 26% to €35.9m.

EBITDA rose from €12.9m to €16.0m, while EBIT increased from €9.2m to €11.4m. The company said bottled wine sales rose by 23%. Exports were 9.1% higher in the first half, accounting for 27% of total sales.
