Amalgamated Bottling Industries, the largest bottler of Coca Cola in South Africa has raced to assure consumers of the safety of its products in this country following the contaminant scare in India at the weekend.

In a statement today the listed company, and SABMiller subsidiary, said it sourced only the best quality water and then subjected it to further extensive filtration and purification systems before introducing it to the soft drink concentrations supplied by Coca Cola.
