Oklahoma's Coop Ale Works has added 21 additional US states to the distribution scope of its Sonic Hard Seltzer brand. Having initially debuted in seven markets, Sonic is also now available from selected off-premise outlets across Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The eight-strong portfolio comprises two 5% abv variety packs and flavour line-ups: Tropical - Ocean Water, Melon Medley, Mango Guava and Orange PineappleCitrus - Cherry Limeade, Original Limeade, Classic Lemonade and Lemon Berry Coop partnered with US-based fast food restaurant chain Sonic in 2021 to produce the hard seltzer under the Sonic brand name. In December, a GlobalData report found that hard seltzer’s meteoric rise and subsequent slowdown in the US mirrored the trajectory followed in recent years by the craft beer segment in the country.
