According to reports, an employee at the brewer, Asia Pacific Breweries (APB), has been arrested in an investigation into an alleged multi-million dollar fraud.
According to Agence France Presse, an APB spokeperson said that the employee, Chia Teck Leng, who joined the company as a financial manager in 1999, “is assisting police with the investigations”.
Local press reports suggested the alleged fraud may have amounted to S$90m (US$51.43m).
Chia Tek Leng allegedly gained access to funds from banks by setting up bogus bank accounts using forged documents.
