A Serbian basketball star playing in the US National Basketball Association has said he wishes to enter the bidding battle to acquire a large stake in Serbia’s mineral water brand Knjaz Milos, which is being privatised.

Vlade Divac could go up against the likes of Coca Cola and Nestle who are also reported to be interested in one of Serbia’s most distinctive brands. A total of 41.28% of Knjaz Milos is being put up for sale. Following a privatisation in 1997, the rest of the shares in Kniaz Milos are held by its workers and pensioners

Knjaz Milos has a 60% share of the Serbian market and has also had an export presence since the 1990s.

“I want everyone to be happy, the company, the state and myself,” has said Divac.
