Production of vodka in Russian has fallen 1.4% in the first half of this year to 618m litres, according to figures from the country’s National Alcohol Association, quoted in the country’s press.


However, production of still wine grew 21% in the period, while sparkling wine was up to 23.9m litres, a 2% rise.


Brandy, meanwhile, was up 25% 14.6m litres, according to the report.
