The Russian state owned company Soyuzplodoimport is to expand the Stolichnaya trademark, which it controls on the domestic market, into mineral water, according to a report by the news agency Interfax.

It quoted the company’s general director Vladimir Loginov as saying a range of state-owned trademarks were being developed, including the Stolichnaya mineral water brand, which could be available by November and a state-owned lemonade, which is planned for mid-2004.

It also reported on the development of an RTD called Stolichnaya Ice, based on Stolichnaya vodka. The company hopes to sell 5m litres of the drink by the end of 2003.
