The Russian brewing group, Sun Interbrew, posted a net consolidated profit of €8.96m for the second quarter, up from €3.54m in the corresponding quarter of last year. Six-month net profit reached €4.2m, against a net loss of €0.19m last year.

Second-quarter sales volumes rose by 38.6% from 3.6m hectolitres to 5m hectolitres. With the brewer outstepping market growth of 8% by some way, it boosted its market share from 11.9% to 15.2% in Russia, and from 30.8% to 33.8% in Ukraine.
