Rémy Cointreau has shuffled its senior executive pack, with the current lead of operations in China heading to the Americas. Nicolas Beckers, the group's CEO for China, has been lined up to move across to the equivalent position in the Americas region. The switch sees incumbent Ian McLernon become CEO of the Europe, Middle East & Africa region with added responsibility for North and South Asia Pacific as well as for Global Travel Retail. Beckers, who has been with Remy since late-2011, will be replaced in China by the VP for Cognac flagship Remy Martin in the country, Sophie Phe. The executive committee redraw, announced late yesterday, omitted mention of committee member and 'group' market director Laurent Venot. Previously CEO of EMEA, Venot assumed responsibility for "all domestic markets around the world" for Remy two years ago. Just Drinks is awaiting confirmation of Venot's position in the company. This week's announcement also confirmed a leadership change for Cognac operations: Jean-Philippe Hecquet has joined the company this month from Canadian apparel company Canada Goose. Again, details of Hecquet's predecessor, Philippe Farnier, were not immediately available. CEO Eric Vallat has also created the position of chief transformation officer, with the global director for 'commercial excellence', Claire Brugnago, is set to complete her current project then transition to "take responsibility for the 'Digital & Customer Relationship Management' division". One final appointment to the board sees former Pernod Ricard corporate communications head Carina Alfonso Martin return to the alcohol industry as director of corporate & internal communications. Alfonso Martin left Remy's spirits rival seven years ago.
