Pernod Ricard has launched a Jameson Irish whiskey extension that is part-aged in stout-seasoned barrels. Jameson Caskmates is a collaboration between Pernod Ricard and Molson Coors' Irish micro-brewery Franciscan Well. The brewer used Jameson barrels in which to mature its stout before giving the barrels back to rehouse Jameson Original.

Pernod Ricard's CEO, Alex Ricard, highlighted Caskmates at the company's Capital Markets Day briefing in June, saying it was an example of growing sales through existing brands and innovations.
