Tanduay Distillers Inc. has been given the go-ahead to resume production and sale of its Ginebra Kapitan gin, despite currently being the subject of litigation.

A court order issued last month indefinitely stopped Tanduay, a unit of Tanduay Holdings Inc., from manufacturing and selling the gin. But BusinessWorld reported yesterday that the appeals court has issued a 60-day restraining order on the original decision.

The lower court’s order was based on a petition filed by the company’s rival Ginebra San Miguel Inc., which claimed that Ginebra Kapitan was a copy of its flagship gin brand Ginebra San Miguel.
