Coming up at this year’s London International Wine Fair…

  • French wine group AdVini (Stand G12) is focusing on its Languedoc house Jeanjean at this year’s fair and the launch of Jeanjean’s Maison du Languedoc brand. Also, Saint-Emilion’s Antoine Moueix is showing its Chapelle Sainte-Marie AOC Montagne Saint-Emilion, from its new Chemin de Compostelle range.
  • ERSA, the Regional Agency for Rural Development in Friuli Venezia Giulia (Stand B60 – D60), has assembled 12 of the region’s wineries to present their wines including Friuli’s seven DOCs. Also, a series of six sit-down tutored tastings spread over the duration of the fair will take place in an on-stand tasting room. On Tuesday at 1430, Stephen Brook looks at ‘The Friulian Riviera: our best Pinot Grigio’. Then, on Wednesday at 1130, Anthony Rose presents ‘Friuli Isonzo DOC area: the best Terroir for Pinot Grigio’, followed by Margaret Rand’s ‘Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC area: Sauvignon selection’ at 1400. At 1600, Beverley Blanning considers ‘Collio Bianco: a wine and its land’. Thursday sees Emily O’Harte present ‘The enological tradition of Friuli Aquileia DOC’ at 1130, concluding with Charles Metcalfe’s look at ‘Red wines from Friuli Grave DOC: Refosco and Merlot’ at 1400.   • JF Hillebrand (Stand L22) will showcase its custom-developed Axis logistics management software at this year’s LIWF. The wine and spirits logistics company will also have several members of staff on hand for visitors to “tap into their wealth of local expertise to identify potential efficiencies in the supply chain”.   • Stratford’s Wine Agencies (Stand N22) will have its new Italian wineries – Sensi and Calatrasi – on the stand next week. Also on offer will be a first glimpse of the new wine from Anakena, ‘Alwa’, as well as newly-released wines from Domaine Paul Mas. Visitors are also welcome to meet with winemakers from Anakena and Domaine Paul Mas, as well as De Grendel and Pascual Toso.
