US country music group Midland has partnered with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits to expand the distribution of its Insólito Tequila brand in six more states in the country. The band, which launched Insolito's three-strong portfolio in Texas two years ago, will subsequently also see the Blanco, Reposado and Añejo expressions on shelves in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, California, Florida and New York. Southern Glazer's will assume distribution responsibilities in all of the brand's current US markets. Insolito, which retails at between US$39.99 and $49.99 per unit, will sit in the distributor's 'Craft Collection Luxury Spirits' section of its catalogue. “Insólito is an exceptional addition to our .. line of products in all key Tequila markets,” said Southern Glazer's VP of 'Craft Collection Luxury Spirits', Ray Lombard. “Insolito provides us with an award-winning 'Jalisco Highland Tequila' with a unique consumer proposition of being created at 7,200 feet above sea level by the Herrera Brothers [Octavio and Alberto]." Tequila has been one of the winners of lockdowns in the US, with the likes of Jose Cuervo brand owner Cuervo benefitting sizably from the home-cocktail trend. The category has also seen an influx of high-profile celebrities unveil their own brands in recent months: Kendall Jenner launched 818 Tequila last year, as did Eva Longoria with her Casa Del Sol range.
