According to reports from the news agency, Agence France-Presse, Maoist rebels in India have destroyed Coca-Cola bottles and blown up a Pepsi warehouse amidst widespread protests across Asia prompted by the war on Iraq.

The soft drinks brands are being targeted as anti-war protests are held in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia.

The banned Indian rebel group, the People’s War Group, targeted both Coca-Cola and Pepsi and liquor stores in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. Around six armed rebels were reported to have raided a Pepsi warehouse and blown it up.
