US-based Foley Family Wines & Spirits (FFWS) has entered the ready-to-drink (RTD) category through a “commercial partnership” with canned cocktails maker Sabé Beverages.

Through the agreement, FFWS said it will assume the role of “importer of record”, overseeing sales, marketing, and “other support functions” for the Sabé brand.

Oakland, California-based Sabé offers a variety of cocktails containing a 13%-14% abv, made with juice concentrates and extracts.

In a statement, FFWS president Shawn Schiffer said Sabé’s RTDs “resonate” particularly with younger drinkers, like “millennial and LDA Gen Z consumers, who seek craft-quality cocktails in convenient formats and higher alcohol offerings”.

He added: “With the distribution power of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits and our other partners paired with an ABV of 13%-14%, Sabé is well positioned for accelerated success.”

Sabé’s 250ml canned cocktails range includes the Margarita, Espresso Martini, and London G&T variants, with a suggested retail price of $13.99-$14.99 for a four-pack.

The business also offers Margarita, Mojito, and Mule in 500ml single-serve cans, priced at $5.99.

Sabé’s canned cocktails are currently sold in several US states, including California, Texas, and Florida.

Jim Andrews, Sabé Beverages’ founder said the partnership will “significantly accelerate SABÉ’s expansion across the US, with Foley’s operational strength as a key driver”.

National expansion of the Sabé RTD range is planned for later this year.

FFWS has been making several significant moves in spirits over the past couple of years.

Set up in 1996, FFWS was best known for its portfolio of wines until 2023, when it entered spirits production through its acquisition of the Minden Mill whiskey distillery in Nevada,

In March, FFWS launched Evil Bean, its first cold brew coffee liqueur, further diversifying its product offerings.

In May 2024, the company also entered the US vodka market with the launch of High Ground, a rye-based vodka.

In April last year, the Foley Estates owner was also appointed US agent for Loch Lomond Group’s Scotch whiskies and Champagnes in the US, importing and selling its products in the country through Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
