Cotswolds Distillery has revealed the latest limited edition expression in its ‘Single Cask Series’ of English whiskies.
Single Madeira Cask was matured in a single French oak cask that previously contained Portuguese fortified wine. The cask was filled in April 2016 and bottled last month at cask strength.

Available to purchase through the company’s website, Single Madeira Cask is the first launch this year from Cotswolds Distillery. The whisky is both naturally coloured and non-chill filtered.
“These unique expressions will be released a few times each year in small batches at cask strength and show off our rich and fruity spirit at its pinnacle,” said founder Dan Szor. “For this release, we have aged our spirit for full-term maturation in a single first-fill cask which has previously held the Portuguese fortified wine of Madeira.”
The company released its first whisky, Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky in 2017. The distillery, located in the south-west of England, also produces Cotswolds Dry Gin.
