Constellation Brands has lined up an RTD extension of its Svedka vodka brand for the US.

Positioned as a “spirits-based hard seltzer”, Svedka Tropics Tea Spritz is infused with tea and fruit flavours. The line comprises Orange Mango, Raspberry Kiwi and Pineapple Guava SKUs.

Both the Orange Mango and Pineapple Guava are coloured with turmeric.

The RTD will be available in single cans or a variety pack of eight that contains four Pineapple Guava and two each of the remaining flavours with an SRP of US$19.99. A variety four-pack will also roll out at an SRP of $12.99.

Late last year, Constellation warned of a “slowdown in the overall [hard seltzer] category” in the US. In its results for the six months to the end of August, the multi-category group admitted it was battling with “excess inventory” for its hard seltzer brands.
