The Philippines-based beverage company, San Miguel Corp. (SMC), has said it is in negotiations to acquire the Chinese brewing operations owned by the Malaysian company, Lion Corp.

SMC confirmed in a submission to the Manila Stock Exchange that the negotiations were in progress, adding that no agreement had yet been reached.
