US drinks start-up CanBee has launched its debut premix RTD.

Bee’s Knees, revealed today, is a gin-based ‘cocktail’ that contains honey and lemon and is free from artificial flavours or colours. According to the company, the iteration was developed alongside professional bee-keepers to ensure the honey is sustainably sourced.

Bee’s Knees is immediately available in selected retailers throughout Texas and New York state, as well as from CanBee’s website.

“We knew we could create a canned cocktail that is exceptionally tasty, but we also wanted our efforts to support the ecosystem that provides the basis for everything we make,” said the company’s director of marketing, Carrie Riby.

Last month, Diageo continued the expansion of its RTD cocktail portfolio, acquiring Rhode Island’s Loyal 9 Cocktails from Sons of Liberty Spirits Co for an undisclosed fee.
