The international price of Bulgarian wine rose by US$0.10 on average in 2002, according to figures from the the chamber of Bulgarian vine growers and wine producers, to reach US$1.0.


Chairman of the chamber of Bulgarian vine growers and wine producers, Nikola Nikolov, said yesterday that Bulgarian wines were regaining their positions on international markets.


Exports to Russia in particular have leapt from 9m bottles in 2001 to 24m bottles last year. Meanwhile exports to European Union countries are expected to exceed 60m bottles against 55m bottles in 2001.
