In April, Diageo begun trials of a closed-loop packaging concept in South-East Asia working with technology firm EcoSpirits. The Singapore-based company created EcoTote, a re-useable glass container that holds 4.5 litres and has a branded outer shell. To facilitate bottling and refilling, EcoSpirits maintains an ‘EcoPlant’ at Diageo’s facility in Bali, operating as a containerised bottling and EcoTote cleaning site.
