On Thursday, Pernod Ricard will report its full-year results. Here, just-drinks takes a look at the company's performance in the three months to the end of June:
- The fourth quarter started with the divestment of ready-to-drink brand Caribe Cooler to Mexican conglomerate Grupo Bepensa for an undisclosed sum
- Shortly afterwards, the company announced the opening of a "brand home" in New York for its Absolut Elyx vodka, that doubles as its US head's private residence
- Towards the end of April, Pernod unveiled unveiled a new ad campaign for its Havana Club rum brand
- Then, the company posted a healthy lift in sales for the first nine months of its fiscal year, with the later Chinese New Year providing a fillip to the third quarter. In a conference call following the results announcement, Pernod Ricard said it is looking beyond its Chivas range to find growth in China's struggling Scotch whisky market
- At the end of April, the company opened its Scapa distillery in Scotland to visitors and announced a new bottle for its Absolut vodka
- At the beginning of May, the group launched two very different whiskies: Chivas Regal The Icon and Barrelhound Blended Scotch Whisky. And at the end of May, The Glenlivet Master Distiller's Reserve range launched in Global Travel Retail
- At the beginning of June, the company held its Capital Market Day and there was lots of news around consumers and new ways to reach them, as well as plans for Havana Club and GH Mumm Champagne. We put all our coverage together here
- Towards the end of the quarter, Laurent Lacassagne, who was in Scotland to open Chivas's new GBP25m (US$40m) Dalmunach distillery, told us that Scotch whisky has a "bumpy road" ahead
In the first nine months of fiscal-2015
- Year-to-date sales rose by 6% to EUR6.54bn (US$7.02bn)
- The top-line in the third-quarter was boosted by a later Chinese New Year: Sales jumped by 19%
- Guidance for FY operating profits growth was confirmed at +1% to +3%
