
Anheuser-Busch InBev will announce its third-quarter results on Friday (30 October). Here, just-drinks looks at the global beer company's activities in the three months to the end of September:
- At the start of July, Anheuser-Busch InBev continued its craft buying spree in South America with its Brazilian subsidiary AmBev's acquisition of Colorado Brewery
- Towards the end of July, the company announced its second quarter results, in which a tough Q2 pulled back its performance in the first six months of this year. On a conference call, the company was keen to express its hope for the Brazilian market, despite a rough quarter
- In mid August, Anheuser-Busch InBev confirmed to just-drinks that it will close its Stag Brewery in London by the end of the year
- A few days later, the company agreed to buy New York distributor R Ippolito Distributing for an undisclosed fee
- At the start of September, the company told analysts it would double global sales of Stella Artois as it looked to accelerate growth across its core portfolio
- Meanwhile, the company continued its US distribution buys with two acquisitions in California
- And by mid-September, SABMiller confirmed that it has received notification from Anheuser-Busch InBev of a possible takeover
- The potential birth of MegaBrew didn't stop the company from making other acquisitions and its US division lined up the purchase of California craft brewer Golden Road Brewing.
