Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for a 16% share of the global consumer industry’s social media-related total new job postings in Q4 2023, down 24% over the prior quarter.

Management Occupations drive social media-related hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 16%, emerged as the top social media-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings drop by 24% quarter-on-quarter. Business and Financial Operations Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q4 2023, with new job postings rising by 2% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social media roles include Sales and Related Occupations with a 6% share in Q4 2023, Production Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 37% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Spectra Food Services & Hospitality, Grupo Gepp, SAPI de CV, Saputo, US Foods Holding, and Clorox. Together they accounted for a combined share of 37% of all social media-related new jobs in the consumer industry.

Spectra Food Services & Hospitality posted 845 social media-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Grupo Gepp, SAPI de CV 571 jobs, Saputo 471 jobs, US Foods Holding 407 jobs, and Clorox 264 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 43.79% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023

The largest share of social media-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 43.79% followed by Mexico (9.99%) and France (5.99%). The share represented by the US was two percentage points lower than the 45.99% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
