Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for an 11% share of the European consumer industry’s total new job postings in Q2 2023, drop 18% over the prior quarter.

Management Occupations drive consumer hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 11% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the European consumer industry in Q2 2023 , ahead of Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 5% share in Q2 2023, Sales and Related Occupations with a 5% share and Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 4% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 28% of hiring activity

Grupa Zywiec posted 4,782 jobs in Q2 2023 and registered a decline of 19% over the previous quarter, followed by Arcelik with 3,136 jobs and a 277% growth. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, with 2,788 jobs, and Cherkizovo Group, with 2,666 jobs, recorded a 27% drop and a 13% rise, respectively, while Compagnie Financiere Richemont recorded a 30% decline with a 1,576 new job postings during Q2 2023.

Regional analysis of hiring in the European consumer industry, Q2 2023

France held the leading share of the European consumer hiring activity with a 16.90% share, a 21% decrease over Q1 2023. Germany was next with 15.38%, four-percentage-point down over the previous quarter.
