Management Occupations drive consumer industry hiring activity

Management Occupations, with a share of 12% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the European consumer industry in Q4 2023 , ahead of Business and Financial Operations Occupations with an 8% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 7% share in Q4 2023, Sales and Related Occupations with a 6% share and Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 23% of hiring activity

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton posted 2,843 jobs in Q4 2023 and registered a growth of 19% over the previous quarter, followed by Nestle with 1,697 jobs and a 16% drop. Estee Lauder, with 1,411 jobs, and Compagnie Financiere Richemont, with 1,247 jobs, recorded a 3% rise and a 188% rise, respectively, while Mondelez International recorded a 138% increase with a 1,187 new job postings during Q4 2023.

Regional analysis of hiring in the European consumer industry, Q4 2023

France held the leading share of the European consumer hiring activity with a 21.43% share, a 2% increase over Q3 2023. Germany was next with 17.40%, four-percentage-point down over the previous quarter.
