Keurig Dr Pepper has announced a long-term franchise agreement with Polar Beverages, as the companies look to expand the Polar Seltzer footprint in the US market.
KDP said last week that the deal will provide national distribution to Polar Seltzer waters, including Polar Seltzer’ade and SeltzerJR, across all channels through KDP’s direct store delivery (DSD) and manufacturing network. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Polar Beverages has manufactured and distributed key KDP brands in the US Northeast for about 30 years. The new agreement sees KDP expand the partnership into manufacturing, distributing and selling Polar Seltzer in the majority of KDP’s DSD footprint. Polar will continue to manufacture and distribute its sparkling waters in existing territories, along with “select” Polar distributors.
Derek Hopkins, KDP chief commercial officer, said: “The sparkling water category shows no sign of slowing down and, our already strong partnership with Polar Beverages will accelerate our ability to ensure that Polar Seltzer is available wherever consumers shop.”
