The UK's biggest pub group Punch and Carlsberg-Tetley have both voiced opposition to Interbrew's proposed solution to the competition concerns arising from its Bass acquisition. Interbrew had offered to sell the Scottish and Northern Ireland businesses of Bass. But wants to keep the Carling brand in an attempt to end the concerns of the Office of Fair Trading over its Bass acquisition.
