US spirits major Sazerac has launched a line of “vodka water” RTDs under the Svedka brand for its home market.

Svedka Vodka Water, which comes in see-through packaging, “is the world’s first transparent canned vodka water”, Sazerac said.

The owner of the Buffalo Trace whiskey and Wheatley vodka brands said the range was “designed for consumers seeking a sessionable and tasty way to sip”.

The RTDs come in four flavours – strawberry, peach, pineapple and lime – and contain 100 calories.

The range is made up of “real vodka, purified water, and crisp fruit flavour”, Sazerac said.

Former Svedka owner Constellation Brands launched a range of RTDs for the brand four years ago. The products were made with vodka, juice and sparkling water. In 2018, the group also launched a range of Svedka spiked seltzers.

Sazerac acquired Svedka from Constellation in 2024 for an undisclosed sum.

According to Svedka’s website at the time of writing, the brand’s portfolio includes 80 and 100 proof bottled vodkas as well as a range of flavoured options.

The new non-carbonated RTDs carry an alcohol strength of 4.5% abv per 12oz can.

“Consumers are redefining what they want from drinking occasions. They want options that fit seamlessly into their lives without sacrificing flavour or fun,” David Binder, the senior brand director at Svedka, said in Sazerac’s statement. “Svedka Vodka Water is our answer to that shift.”

He added the range is “a new take on a classic combination that raises the bar on both taste and transparency, delivering a cleaner, more effortless way to drink”.

Svedka Vodka Water is being rolled out “nationwide” this month, Sazerac’s statement said, with the range being sold in eight-pack multipacks, as well as in single cans.

Just Drinks has asked Sazerac for more details on the products, including their price.
