Chilean-owned Coca-Cola Polar will begin redeveloping its Neuquén plant in Argentina in order to double its capacity, the company has announced.
The redevelopment will begin in August at a cost of US$1m and will allow the plant to produce returnable bottles. Company vice president Andrés Herrera said the aim of the refit was to drive down costs by “going back to using returnable bottles given that they’re cheaper.”
Coca-Cola Polar’s stated aim for 2003 is to “consolidate its operations in Argentina” after a difficult 2002.
