In February, Halewood extended its Crabbie’s Yardhead Scotch and Peaky Blinder Irish whiskey to the US. A month later, the company reduced its staff numbers in the UK and closed US office as part of wide-ranging measures to combat the coronavirus impact, as the pandemic caused a “major downturn”. Halewood CEO Stewart Hainsworth told just-drinks that the firm had been “hit very hard financially” by COVID-19.
