Two workers have died in an explosion at the Coors brewery at Elkton in Virginia.

The men were employees of a contractor, E.A. Breeden Inc., and were welding near the tank when it exploded, Coors spokeswoman Janet Wendelken, said.

Coors produces its Killian’s Red and Coors Light brands at the Elkton plant. Although the plant employs some 468 people, only around 10 Coors employees work at the plant’s wastewater treatment facility where the explosion occurred. The company said none of its employees were hurt in the blast.
