The head of PepsiCo Inc said that growing consumer interest in health provided the company with an excellent opportunity for long-term growth. Steve Reinemund said that plans were already in place to develop new products which will cater to the growing demand for healthy products.

In a presentation to investors at a Morgan Stanley conference yesterday, Reinemund stated that PepsiCo hopes to attract new consumers to its products by catering to those who are seeking out healthier alternatives. The company is currently working to offer drinks such as Aquafina water, Tropicana juices and Gatorade sports drinks to schools.

Reinemund believes that increased awareness of choices that are ‘good for you’ gives PepsiCo not only its “biggest single opportunity” for long-term growth, but also “probably the best opportunity for price as well”.
