The US wine giant E&J Gallo has signed a deal for the exclusive distribute rights for the New Zealand winemaker Whitehaven Wine Company in the US and Canada.
The deal, a first New Zealand wine for Gallo, will give it rights to all of Whitehaven’s brands.
Whitehaven believes the deal offers it the chance to treble its production in the next three to five years.
Whitehaven, which has 35 hectares of its own vineyards and 20 contract growers, recently completed a new winery with a capacity of 200,000 cases.
