One of The Coca-Cola Company’s equipment suppliers, The Lancer Corporation, has become involved in the criminal investigation into allegations of fraud against the soft drink giant.

Lancer said in a statement that federal prosecutors are seeking information from it in the investigations that have sprung from an unfair dismissal case filed by former Coke employee Matthew Whitley.

In the case Whitely has accused Coke of improper accounting procedures concerning a fountain dispenser, iFountain, it was involved in with Lancer.

Last week, also as a result of the Whitely suit, Coke’s customer Burger King was received a subpoena for information related to a sales test for Frozen Coke in 2000.  Coke has already acknowledged that some employees ”improperly influenced” test results concerning Frozen Coke, in an attempt to influence Burger King’s use of the drink.

Lancer said it would delay filing its most recent quarterly financial statement as it conducted an audit investigation.
