What has been reported in the UK press as the world’s strongest beer is to go on sale in the UK off-trade. Called Dogfish Head Worldwide Stout, it has an abv of 23%, and has the tag “extreme beer” in the US where it is made.
The beer will go on sale in Safeway’s supermarkets for £6 for a third of a litre.
Speaking in the Sun newspaper, Good Beer Guide editor Roger Protz said: “If you drink too much of this stuff you won’t just drop down drunk, you could drop down dead. It should be sold in smaller quantities.”
