Ian Macleod Distillers’ Smokehead Whisky is to sponsor the UK’s Marshall Ultimate Band Contest.
A bottle of Smokehead Islay Single Malt Whisky will be one of the prizes for the band that wins the competition, alongside a loan of equipment for a year, a demo re-master from Metropolis Sudios and an opportunity to feature on a rock CD, the firm said today (14 October).
Iain Weir, marketing director of Ian Macleod Distillers, said: “Through the Ultimate Band Contest, our work with Classic Rock Magazine and High Voltage Festival, we are cementing Smokehead’s reputation with the rock world.”
Bands can register at www.marshallubc.com. The top 20 groups with the most votes will go through to the second round, where five bands will be selected to compete in the final in Milton Keynes.
