UK: Bacardi drops abv of Metz
Bacardi-Martini has announced that in response to the UK chancellor's massive increase in excise duty on premium packaged spirits (PPS) in April's Budget, it will be reducing the abv content of its citrus flavoured drink Metz in the UK. "Now with an ABV of 4%, the cost per case is even lower than it was before this year's budget. Metz now offers enhanced profit margin opportunities to the trade compared to many rival brands," the company said in a statement.
