The Dutch-based coffee and tea producer, Douwe Egberts, part of the Sara Lee consumer goods group, has announced that it is to move into the water cooler market under the brand name, aQa Pickwick.
The company said it is to start selling water because coffee consumption has been falling. The water is to be enriched with minerals and filtered by a special water system, the company said.
At the outset, the aQa Pickwick system will be targeted at companies and institutions with more than 25 employees with machines costing €43 (US$50.53) per month to rent.
