According to a report in the Asian Wall Street Journal, the Thai-based drinks group, Chang Beverages, has asked for government help in its dispute with the Danish brewer Carlsberg AS.

On Monday, Carlsberg announced that it had replaced Chang representatives on the board of the 50/50 joint venture which it had formed with the company last year, Carlsberg Asia, with executives from Carlsberg Breweries. Carlsberg also said that the transfer of assets from Chang to the JV had not taken place and it was in discussions with Chang about the future of the JV, saying that the JV “had not developed according to expectations”.

A source close to Chang Beverages was reported to have said that Chang was alleging that Carlsberg’s statement contained factual innaccuracies.
