PLB has secured the addition of two more Spanish wine producers to its UK import portfolio.
The company, which acquired HwCg’s assets when it went into administration last year, said today that it will handle Navarra’s Bodegas Ochoa and Rioja’s Miguel Merino wine companies to the high-end on-trade and independent sectors.
PLB takes over from Pol Roger for the two wines. When contacted by just-drinks today (9 March), a spokesperson for PLB said: “Ochoa and Miguel Merino have been looking to re-invigorate their brands on the UK market, which coincides with PLB’s growing portfolio of premium producers and increasing focus on – and resource within – the on-trade arena.”
Based in the Navarra region of Spain, the Ochoa family sources its grapes from 143 owned hectares. Miguel Merino, who holds the post of export director at Bodegas Ochoa, established his eponymous winery in 1993.
