Stellenbosch-based listed wine company, Winecorp Limited has announced a reshuffle of its top structure, with UK-based chairman Faisal Rahmatallah resigning with immediate effect.
Gerrie Wagener, presently the MD of subsidiaries Winecorp SA and Afrika Vineyards, who was appointed to the board of Winecorp Limited in May last year took over the reigns according to the company.
His right hand man will be Neville Carew, who for the past two and a half years has been responsible for production at another subsidiary, Winecorp Private Label Services. He replaces CEO, Johan van Reenen who was appointed in late 2001, when the company went through a number of senior positional changes.
Rahmatallah has resigned due to increased time pressure created by his investment interests in the UK. He will continue as a consultant for strategic planning and reviewing Winecorp’s progress.
Another two non-executive directors have been appointed, namely Oxford PhD graduate Adrian Enthoven, chairman of Spier Holdings and Ralph Freese who serves on various boards.
