Samuel Gulliver & Co has built on its ‘official whisky of England rugby’ status with the launch of a limited-edition single malt whisky in partnership with The English Whisky Co.
English Single Malt Whisky Rum Cask has been aged for six years in oak casks that formerly held rum. The iteration, which is limited to 3,500 bottles, is available to purchase now from the company’s website. Purchasers of the whisky will also receive a certificate of authenticity.

According to Samuel Gulliver, which signed a licensing agreement with the RFU late last year, the term ‘England’s No. 6’ on the label pays tribute to “the finest No.6s to have pulled on the famous white jersey with the red rose”. The release has been timed to coincide with the beginning of the Six Nations rugby tournament this week.
The bottler was founded in 1747 by Samuel Gulliver before closing 210 years later. Four years ago, operations restarted under ninth-generation family member Stuart Gulliver.
