The Russian food and drink producer Wimm-Bill-Dann Foods, is planning to increase production of its fruit juices.

According to the news agency Interfax, the company is completing a re-haul of its plant in Ramensky, Moscow region, which will exclusively make juice.

The action is a response to a supply deficit for Wimm-Bill-Dann’s juices. The company is currently compensating with orders to other producers.
Capacity will eventually exceed 2000 tonnes a day, although the new equipment will be phased in over the year. Once completed it will be the biggest juice plant in Eastern Europe.

The company did not divulge costs but said if a similar plant was to open in Europe, investment would total about US$40m.
