The UK-based brewing force, Scottish & Newcastle (S&N), has acquired the remaining 51% in the Portuguese brewer, Sociedade Central de Cervejas (SCC), which it did not already own from its joint venture partners.

S&N has also announced that it has acquired the Portuguese mineral water company, Sociedade da Agua de Luso, from the same partners.

The total value of the two deals is €342m (US$393m). S&N said it expected both deals to have a positive impact on group earnings in the first year.
