“The month of November was characterized by average temperatures which were above the norm for this time of year and the occurence of precipitation, which was particularily abundant in the second half of the month,” the agency said in a statement. “This climate scenario hurt crops.”
PORTUGAL: Bad weather hits wine harvest
According to data from the INE national statistics office, wine production in Portugal is expected to fall by 15% for 2002 to 626m litres, as a result of heavy rain.
