An exclusive distributor has been announced for Heineken in Mexico. The processed foods company Grupo Herdez reported yesterday that it had signed a deal to distribute Heineken’s products. No financial terms were released.
Herdez produces a range of hot sauces and other food products. It already has local distribution agreements with other companies, including US packaged foods group McCormick & Co. Inc. and Italian pasta maker Barilla Spa.
The imported beer market in Mexico is worth around US$100m.
