In a statement, Marie Brizard said the deal represents a “new chapter” for its Danish operations to “accelerate growth” in the country.

Fahd Khadraoui, CEO of Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits Group, said Interbrands Denmark’s portfolio “perfectly complements our own”.

The distributor handles Emperador whiskies including Whyte & Mackay, Illva Saronno’s Disaronno, as well as Zubrowka vodka and Hine Cognac.

The Marie Brizard portfolio contains products such as William Peel Scotch, Sobieski vodka and Cognac Gautier.

Khadraoui added: “We will combine our commercial expertise, marketing capabilities and route-to-market coverage to create a stronger, more agile platform serving both our customers and our brand partners. This project marks an important step forward in our growth journey in the region.”

The acquisition comes as Marie Brizard contends with weaker trading, especially in the home market.

The company’s third-quarter sales fell 10.8% to €40.9m ($47.5m).

In France, revenue fell 23.4%, which the company attributed to delistings that hit its William Peel brand.

Sales outside France decreased 1.6%, with pressures in Denmark and Bulgaria offset by a “strong performance” in Spain and Lithuania from its industrial-services activities.

Over the first nine months of 2025, group sales were down 9.5% to €127.5m.

Revenue in France fell 19.3% year on year, while sales outside France edged 1.7% lower.

In the trading update, the group said it had also moved to “diversify its offering” through its industrial-services arm and the distribution of agency brands. It described the units as “two segments that are performing well and demonstrating real growth potential”.

Marie Brizard’s industrial-services division includes bottling sub-contracts for third-party brand owners and private-label clients.
