J&G Grant is to resume selling Glenfarclas single malt whisky in the travel retail market.
The company, which pulled the brand from the channel three years ago, is teaming up with Ian Macleod Distillers.
J&G Grant and Ian Macleod Distillers have developed a range that includes two whiskies created exclusively for travel retail: a one-litre, 11-year-old Glenfarclas marketed at £49.99 ($67.99) and a 16-year-old variant sold in a 70cl bottle with a recommended retail price of £79.99.
The line-up also includes the Glenfarclas 105 – sold in one-litre bottles at an RSP of £69.99 – and a Glenfarclas 35 years old priced at £765. A range of single casks will also be released.
J&G Grant head of sales Duncan Grant said the tie-up covered “global distribution” within travel retail.
“Our aim is to increase visibility of Glenfarclas Single Malt Scotch globally, making it more accessible for our loyal customers,” he said.

By GlobalData“The 11-year-old and 16-year-old are both 46% abv, non-chill filtered and, as with all our whiskies, natural colour. Customers are now spoilt for choice as they navigate the vast and impressive whisky selection within airports worldwide. We wanted to give our customers the opportunity to purchase whisky that they will not find at home in their domestic markets.”
J&G Grant and Ian Macleod Distillers, both family-owned companies, co-own Scotland-based drinks bottler Broxburn Bottlers.
Glenfarclas is J&G Grant’s flagship brand. Last month, the company launched its oldest whisky – the Glenfarclas 70-Year-Old, distilled in 1953.
Ian Macleod Distillers’ range includes single-malt whiskies Glengoyne and Tamdhu, as well as the blended Isle of Skye Scotch whisky and Edinburgh Gin.
William Ovens, head of global travel retail at Ian Macleod Distillers, said: “Glenfarclas is hugely respected and highly rated by discerning single malt drinkers and a fantastic addition to our portfolio.
“Through our extensive distribution network, we supply all international regions and just about all multi-national travel retail operators and many regional operators. We are confident that, given the scale of Glenfarclas and its loyal following, the brand will prove to be a real hit with our extensive customer base.”
